Hillcrest hasn't had much luck against Granger recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Granger will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Hillcrest extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Huskies blew past Park City 12-2. 12 seems to be a good number for the Huskies as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Abigail Hitchcock made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hillcrest got a massive performance out of Savil Hughes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Hughes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Skylynn Salazar Bell, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Hillcrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Park City only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Granger earned a 14-11 victory over Corner Canyon on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lancers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Haylie Harper was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Pianola Tuaone, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Hillcrest's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Granger, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hillcrest has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Granger struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hillcrest suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Granger in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Huskies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
