3A Region III District 24 recap Nov. 7, 2012
La Marque extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region III District 24 this week by beating Columbia, 48-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Stafford took down KIPP Sunnyside 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Columbia's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Roughnecks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. WILLIS JOHNSON has thrown for 455 yards and four touchdowns this season, while JARIUS KESEE has 12 catches for 174 yards. FLOYD BESS leads the league in rushing with 1186 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Spartans take on La Marque. Stafford is currently in fourth, while the Cougars are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Bill Wilson's team takes on La Marque. The Spartans have allowed 167 points this season, while the Cougars have given up 88. Stafford allowed 7 points last week as it topped KIPP Sunnyside.
