The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Capital Christian. Tamalpais has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jaylen Valdez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Capital Christian, scoring 21 points along with six assists and two steals. Valdez hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Myles Wiggins, who scored 11 points along with four blocks.
Tamalpais has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Capital Christian, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.
Tamalpais will head out on the road to take on Archie Williams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Archie Williams knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Tamalpais likes a good challenge. As for Capital Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sacramento at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Sacramento is ranked 79th, while Capital Christian is ranked 78th).
