Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for West Plains

West Plains had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They strolled past the Dumas Demons with points to spare, taking the game 56-37. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolves' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Demons are ranked 250th).

Leading West Plains to victory were SLADE RUSSELL and REID MACON. RUSSELL rushed for 353 yards and three TDs while picking up 16.8 yards per carry, while MACON rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those 353 rushing yards gave RUSSELL a new career-high. Another player making a difference was KANE WHITE-TINSLEY, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Plains was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 479 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 202 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

West Plains' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Dumas, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
