A feisty cat fight will be fought as Midlothian Heritage Jaguars challenge Kaufman Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Midlothian Heritage's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Kaufman has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Saturday, Midlothian Heritage made easy work of Maypearl and carried off an 18-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Midlothian Heritage let Rylee Parrish and Ava Robinson run wild. Parrish went 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs, while Robinson fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two triples gave Parrish a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amiya VanMeter, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Midlothian Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kaufman). They were the clear victors by a 20-10 margin over Terrell on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Abeni Nava made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Nava was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kaufman got a massive performance out of Sadie Waters, who scored five runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Bella Phiffer was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.
Midlothian Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Kaufman's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-9-2.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Midlothian Heritage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like Kaufman struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
