Bradenton Christian has gone 9-1 against Southeast recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bradenton Christian Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Southeast Seminoles at 6:00 p.m. Bradenton Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Bradenton Christian is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since April 23, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out IMG Academy Navy 4-2. Four seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southeast). They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Gibbs on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Seminoles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Franklyn Rosa made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keyan Throne, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Southeast is 2-1 when Throne posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Jose Correa was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
Bradenton Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bradenton Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bradenton Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Southeast in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bradenton Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
