Nathan Stein of Spearville ran for the longest rushing play in Southern Plains-Iroquois (8 Man) this season against Fowler last week. Stein ran for 75 yards on the play and finished with 175 on the day as his team defeated the Goldbugs.
Spearville led the league in scoring this week by notching 80 points on Fowler. Stein threw for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Hunter Stephenson was the best wideout in the league this week as Matt Fowler's team beat Matt Bell's team. Stephenson tallied 2 receptions for 75 yards.
Trever Powell provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Kiowa County bested Macksville.
Powell was a beast in the backfield as the Mavericks defeated the Mustangs.
Corey McCann put up the best numbers through the air as Ashland topped Minneola. He finished with a total of 7 completions for 110 yards and 3 touchdowns. McCann's favorite target this week was Kole Konrade, who caught 3 passes for 53 yards.
Powell was the most successful running back in Southern Plains-Iroquois (8 Man) this week. He ran for 265 yards on 27 carries as Kiowa County defeated the Goldbugs. John Terhune also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.
Fowler's Taylin Bird and Ty Clark have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bird has thrown for 403 yards this season, while Clark, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 12 catches for 226 yards. Clint Young's team's Powell leads the league in rushing yards with 698.
The Blue Jays are currently in eighth, while Spearville is in first.
