Benson is 0-10 against Creighton Prep since January of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Benson Bunnies will host the Creighton Prep Junior Jays at 7:00 p.m. Benson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Creighton Prep likes a good challenge.
Benson is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since December 9, 2024 on Thursday. They really took it to Omaha Northwest for the full four quarters, racking up an 85-44 win. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bunnies had established a 30 point advantage.
Ne'Rae Lee went supernova for Benson, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Those 20 points gave Lee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Antonio Carson Jr., who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Creighton Prep sidestepped Omaha Central for a 60-57 victory. Given the Junior Jays' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Eagles are ranked 78th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Creighton Prep found their leader in sophomore Max Jungers, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for Jungers. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinell Parker, who put up 11 points along with six boards and three blocks.
Benson's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Creighton Prep, they are also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Benson hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66.6 points per game. However, it's not like Creighton Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64.3 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Benson was dealt a bruising 77-43 loss at the hands of Creighton Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Benson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
