Dacula took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Meadowcreek Mustangs 64-14. With the Falcons ahead 30-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Garrison G Cantrell had an outrageously good game as he threw for 185 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Another player making a difference was Rhyan Perry, who rushed for 38 yards and one touchdown.
Dacula was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meadowcreek only rushed for -8 rushing yards.
Meadowcreek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyree Thomas, who picked up 106 receiving yards and one score. Thomas' longest reception was for an incredible 97 yards. Armani Rodriguez also helped out with an impressive 125 receiving yards.
Meadowcreek is on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-1-1.
Coming up, Dacula will square off against Jackson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Meadowcreek, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pebblebrook at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
