The Murrah Mustangs''s game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past Lanier 28-6. The result was nothing new for Murrah, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Murrah's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justyce Williams, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes. TaMarion Smith and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Murrah's victory.
Murrah's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Murrah's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Lanier, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrah is on the road again on Thursday and play against Kosciusko at 7:00 p.m. on October 26th. Kosciusko will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Lanier, they will head out on the road to face off against Wingfield on Friday. Wingfield is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
