The Oswego East Wolves will challenge the Lincoln-Way East Griffins at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Thursday, Oswego East needed a bit of extra time to put away Plainfield North. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  victory over the Tigers. The  win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Oswego East's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Devin Wheaton, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs and one  double. That's the most  runs  Wheaton has posted since back in April.  Ryan Lopez also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
 Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way East came tearing into  Thursday's  match with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Vikings  4-2.
 Lincoln-Way East pushed their record up to 18-4 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Oswego East, their  win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 9-14.
