Softball Recap: Polytechnic Wins Going Away Against Chadwick

Polytechnic never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Chadwick Dolphins as they made off with a 6-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Amelia Shih, who gave up just three hits to keep Chadwick off the board. Shih has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eila Chan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Brynn Connolly was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Polytechnic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chadwick, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Polytechnic will take on Vasquez in a tournament on Saturday. As for Chadwick, they will head out to face off against Westridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dolphins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
