The Daniel Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Daniel has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Wednesday, Daniel came up short against Walhalla and fell 12-9.

Bryn Chasteen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Maria Bowers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Cardinals as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Fighting Tigers have won six games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bella Ballenger made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Ballenger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, K Grant looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Blue Ridge got a big performance out of Chloe Manley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Grace Thompkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Blue Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Blue Ridge's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Daniel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Daniel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Blue Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Daniel couldn't quite get it done against Blue Ridge in their previous meeting back in February of 2015 as they fell 5-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
