Make it 16 blowout wins for the Biloxi Indians this season. They blew past Ocean Springs, posting a 53-18 win at home. The win was nothing new for Biloxi as they're now sitting on four straight.
Biloxi found their leader in underclassman Zaniya Johnson, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Biloxi's points. Another player making a difference was Nakenya Terry, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Biloxi's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Ocean Springs, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biloxi will square off against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Theodore is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Indians a 13-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Ocean Springs, they will head out on the road to square off against the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Harrison presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Greyhounds in Mississippi (the Hurricanes are ranked 103rd, while the Greyhounds are ranked 207th).
