The KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Sheridan by a score of 60-47. The win was some much needed relief for KIPP Denver Collegiate as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Armando Monarrez and Bobby Garcia certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Monarrez scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Garcia scored 12 points along with three steals. Garcia is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Gabriel Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and two steals.
KIPP Denver Collegiate's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Sheridan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Denver Collegiate will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
