Even though the Dr. Krop Lightning have not done well against the Miami Beach Hi-Tides recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Dr. Krop walked away with a 72-65 victory over the Hi-Tides. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Joseph Washington was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 36 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Emmanuel Ferguson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
The win got Dr. Krop back to even at 10-10. As for Miami Beach, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-8.
Dr. Krop will take on the Vipers at TBD on Tuesday. Varela is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Miami Beach, they will take on the Eagles at TBD on Tuesday. Southwest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 589th, while the Hi-Tides are ranked 280th).
