Middleton has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will challenge the Highland Rams at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Middleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Middleton had to settle for a 53-51 loss against Kuna.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Elsie Wyatt, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Zoey Blackwell, who scored 14 points along with 6 steals.
Highland can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past Century 37-34.
Highland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daisy Agado led the charge by scoring 13 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Agado has scored at least 25% of Highland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rian Pokibro, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Boise's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Middleton's defeat dropped theirs to 2-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Middleton have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 17.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've been even better at 28.4 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Middleton beat Highland 58-47 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Middleton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
