Basketball Recap: Aiden Kwak's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Apostles Lutheran over Calvary Christian Academy

Apostles Lutheran was the 57-46 winner over Calvary Christian Academy when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Apostles Lutheran Falcons took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calvary Christian Academy Lions on Tuesday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Apostles Lutheran's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Kwak, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 boards. Kwak has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Bork, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Apostles Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Apostles Lutheran's record is now 1-7. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
