Leavitt will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Medomak Valley extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against Camden Hills, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since May 2nd.
Sidney Nichols spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 20 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Claudia Feeley, who went 1-for-5 with one home run. Kytana Williamson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Leavitt made easy work of Lincoln Academy on Tuesday and carried off a 20-1 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Hailey Cyr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Cyr was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gabby Smith was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaeley Tremblay, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Leavitt hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.
Medomak Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Leavitt, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
