The Southside Panthers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Alexandria 49-21 at home. The result was nothing new for Southside, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Southside's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.4 points per game. As for Alexandria, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Southside will head out on the road to face off against Moody at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Moody is ranked 80th, while Southside is ranked 63rd). As for Alexandria, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Talladega at 7:00 p.m. Talladega is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
