St. John Lutheran scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on First Christian with a sharp 68-44 win. St. John Lutheran has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Arisa Ford, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla joy Bowen, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Redeemer Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Cambridge Christian at home by a decisive 47-32 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Redeemer Christian has scored all season.
St. John Lutheran pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Redeemer Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
St. John Lutheran was able to grind out a solid win over Redeemer Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 41-34. Does St. John Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Redeemer Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
