MT Breland put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Friday. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Breland's strong effort led Columbia over Lawrence County and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats are a perfect 9-0 against the Cougars going back to March of 2015, a lead they'll look to extend.
