Timothy Christian was the victim of a rough 70-44 defeat at the hands of Sandburg. Timothy Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.
Despite the loss, Timothy Christian saw an underclassman step up: Marc Gamble scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. Stephen Hribal was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Timothy Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Sandburg, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timothy Christian and Illiana Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Illiana Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday. As for Sandburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Lawn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Lawn will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
