Basketball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Skates Past Colorado School for the Deaf Blind with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Denver Academy, Cripple Creek-Victor was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 49-20 victory over the Colorado School for the Deaf Blind Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Pioneers have posted since January 6th.

Leading Cripple Creek-Victor to victory were Trevor Mirande and Chase Lohmeier. Mirande almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Lohmeier posted 11 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Lohmeier a new career-high in steals. Dylan Reyes was another key player, putting up six points.

Cripple Creek-Victor was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got Cripple Creek-Victor back to even at 2-2. As for Colorado School for the Deaf Blind, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cripple Creek-Victor will welcome KIPP Denver Collegiate at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Colorado School for the Deaf Blind, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Parkhill Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
