Macksville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Victoria Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Macksville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Macksville was able to grind out a solid victory over the Leopards, taking the game 36-28.
Macksville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kambry Adams out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Logan Sanders, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Victoria sidestepped the Eagles for a 51-48 victory.
Victoria's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kennidy Amrein led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Amrein has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Averi Windholz, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Macksville's record now sits at 8-5. Victoria's record now sits at 6-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Macksville have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Victoria struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Macksville against the Knights in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 61-23 win. With Macksville ahead 38-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
