The Syracuse Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Sublette Larks at 7:30 p.m. Syracuse will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Syracuse posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. Everything went their way against Southwestern Heights as Syracuse made off with a 48-23 victory. Given Syracuse's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Southwestern Heights is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Sublette has not done well against Wichita County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Sublette really took it to Wichita County for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-39 victory on the road.
Syracuse pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Sublette, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Syracuse and Sublette were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but Syracuse came up empty-handed after a 49-48 defeat. Can Syracuse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
