The Strasburg Rams will venture away from home to square off against the James Wood Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Strasburg was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Stonewall Jackson on Monday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Generals. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rams needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Ava Mayhew made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Strasburg let Camille Greco and Madison Wilkins run wild. Greco went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Wilkins went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. What's more, Greco posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kenley Arnold, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Strasburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, James Wood never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Kettle Run as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Strasburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for James Wood, their record is now 9-4.
Strasburg came up short against James Wood when the teams last played back in March, falling 4-0. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
