Unatego is 8-1 against Unadilla Valley since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Unatego Spartans will be staying on the road to face off against the Unadilla Valley Storm at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Unatego's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Unadilla Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.
On January 3rd, Unatego was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-41 to Delaware Academy. That's two games in a row now that Unatego has lost by exactly four points.
Meanwhile, Unadilla Valley suffered a tough 52-30 loss at the hands of Walton on Wednesday. Unadilla Valley has struggled against Walton recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Unatego's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Unadilla Valley, they bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Unatego took their victory against Unadilla Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 42-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for Unatego since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
