Softball Recap: Beaver Local Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Beaver Local made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Indian Creek, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Beavers blew past the Redskins 12-3 on Monday. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

Ciara Call made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Calleigh Eells, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Tori Druschel, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Beaver Local kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.

Beaver Local pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Indian Creek, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Beaver Local will be playing at home against Toronto at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Knights have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. Indian Creek will be paying especially close attention to Beaver Local's game: after Beaver Local faces off against Toronto, they'll take on Indian Creek again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
