The Cary Imps suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Wednesday. Their rough 62-42 defeat to Middle Creek might stick with them for a while. Cary has not had much luck with Middle Creek recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Imps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stone Holcombe, who scored 19 points. Bryson Keith was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Obataobie Okafor was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds for Middle Creek. Okafor is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasir Hall, who scored 17 points.
Cary has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Middle Creek, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cary will take on Panther Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Panther Creek will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Middle Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Green Hope at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Green Hope focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday.
