The Lutheran Lions waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat D'Evelyn 95-65 at home. Lutheran's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Braydon Jacob continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 4 assists. Kade Speckman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
When it comes to explaining why D'Evelyn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taj Kumar. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Vince Scaturro, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Lutheran's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points per game.
