The Carolina International Comets entered their tilt with the Sugar Creek Wildcats with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Carolina International narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 50-47. Winning is a bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, as Carolina International did.
Carolina International was led to victory by Michael Davis and Landon Griffin. Davis scored 11 points, while Griffin scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Salter, who scored two points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Sugar Creek saw an underclassman step up: Corde Harrison scored 14 points along with four steals. Aidan Gatewood was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Carolina International's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Sugar Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carolina International will take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sugar Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for they, they and Jackson Day will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
