Baseball Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Dawson School

Dayspring Christian Academy had won three straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 13-3 to make it four. They blew past the Dawson School Mustangs 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Gage Davis made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josiah Rodriguez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Vaniddekinge, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI.

Dayspring Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

As for Dawson School, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-7. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but Dayspring Christian Academy's pitchers proved too tough.

On Dawson School's side, Milo Richtel was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-2.
