The Thomasville Bulldogs struggled with assists on Saturday (the Carver Tigers had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Thomasville took a serious blow against Carver, falling 77-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Thomasville has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Thomasville still got an impressive performance from Rhaniya Wilson, who scored four points. Ni?Shyah Duncan was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds.
Jazmin Thornton was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Carver. Thornton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubri Wilkins, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Thomasville's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-14. As for Carver, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.
Thomasville will head out on the road to face off against Dougherty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Thomasville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 40 on Saturday. As for Carver, they will head out on the road to challenge Monroe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Carver's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 matches.
