Union added to the longest winning streak in 6A District 1 this week by beating Bartlesville, 58-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Redskins.
Union took down the Bruins 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. TYLER ADKINS ran for 284 yards and caught 2 passes for 27 yards during the win.
ADKINS provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Kirk Fridrich's team bested Bartlesville. ADKINS's key target this week was WILL HAMILTON, who caught 5 passes for 72 yards.
ADKINS was a beast in the backfield as the Redskins bested John McKee's team.
MASON FARQUHAR and ADKINS gave Union a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. FARQUHAR threw for 212 yards and 1 touchdown, while ADKINS ran for 284 yards. DEREK FINCH also contributed to the rushing game with 55 yards on the ground.
The Bruins' Colton Penrod and Slade Nordic have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Penrod has thrown for 2,122 yards this season, while Nordic has 59 catches for 858 yards. ADKINS from the Redskins leads the league in rushing with 1,019 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Union and Washington. The Redskins comes into the matchup ranked second in the state, while the Hornets ranks 14th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Union takes on Washington. The Redskins have allowed 126 points this season, while the Hornets have given up 174. Union allowed 0 points last week as it beat Bartlesville.
Ponca City made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,324 from 8,702. The advance stemmed from a 51-0 victory over the Wildcats last week.
