The White Station Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
White Station barely beat St. Benedict at Auburndale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. White Station's pitcher stepped up to hand St. Benedict at Auburndale a 12-0 shutout on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Townsend Buring made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Buring was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Lakeland Preparatory pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. White Station couldn't quite get it done against Lakeland Preparatory in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Can White Station avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
