Pilgrim had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They took down Westmark 47-33 back in December of 2023. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Pilgrim has managed all season.
Meanwhile, San Fernando Valley Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Westmark with a sharp 60-35 win. San Fernando Valley Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 25 points or more this season.
San Fernando Valley Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justin Galduen, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Galduen scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Neprix Sisona, who scored ten points along with four steals and two blocks.
Pilgrim's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3. As for San Fernando Valley Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
