It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cerritos Dons had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They snuck past the Trojans with a 19-13 victory. Winning may never get old, but Cerritos sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Cerritos was led to victory by Dikshanta Adhikari and Justin Sagun. Adhikari picked up 67 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Sagun threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Yucca Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Myles Harper. Despite the final result, he rushed for 201 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Harper was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
Cerritos' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points per game. As for Yucca Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Cerritos has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Wasco at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Wasco is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Yucca Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
