The Seabreeze Sandcrabs will take on the Bishop Moore Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seabreeze is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Seabreeze is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Pine Ridge a 5-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for the Sandcrabs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Not much got past Alyssa Checho, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Pine Ridge off the board.
On the hitting side, Caylee Little was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Chloe Sebastian also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Bishop Moore not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 17-2). They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over New Smyrna Beach. Considering the Hornets have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Riley Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Bishop Moore let Ariana Lara and Stella Willy run wild. Lara got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Willy got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Carolina Rusnik was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Bishop Moore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Bishop Moore's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Seabreeze, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
Seabreeze suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Bishop Moore in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Sandcrabs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
