The Copper Canyon Aztecs suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 57-32 walloping at the hands of Kofa. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Copper Canyon in their matchups with Kofa: they've now lost five in a row.
Elijah Braveheart continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kofa, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Braveheart is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games he's played. Emmanuel Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Copper Canyon's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-11. As for Kofa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Copper Canyon will head out on the road to challenge Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Independence is ranked 246th, while Copper Canyon is ranked 228th). As for Kofa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Buckeye's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
