It was a good run, but the Bradshaw Mountain Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. The match between Bradshaw Mountain and Prescott wasn't particularly close, with Bradshaw Mountain falling 55-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bradshaw Mountain has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Bradshaw Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mason Hunt. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 50% of Bradshaw Mountain's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Preston Ranniker was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Bradshaw Mountain struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Prescott pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Leading Prescott to victory were Zane Gaul and Uriah Tenette. Gaul dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds, while Tenette scored 23 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaul has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Danian Bernardo, who scored five points along with two steals.
Bradshaw Mountain's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Prescott, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bradshaw Mountain's road trip will continue as they head out to face Flagstaff at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully Flagstaff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday. As for Prescott, they will head out on the road to take on Lee Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lee Williams will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Prescott is ranked 28th).
