Baseball Recap: Vienna Find Success

While Vienna's win against Trico wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Pioneers 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won four in a row.

Vienna's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Jones a new career-high. Grady Waters also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Vienna's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-7. As for Trico, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Trico will face off against Gibault Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Vienna will be paying especially close attention to the Pioneers' contest: after the Pioneers face off against the Hawks, they'll take on Vienna again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
