St. John Paul II Catholic took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against San Tan Charter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. St. John Paul II Catholic had just enough and edged out San Tan Charter 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 23, 2024.

James Pierski made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Pierski wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Pedroza, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Mohave Accelerated was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-6 to Williams.

St. John Paul II Catholic's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Mohave Accelerated, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

St. John Paul II Catholic skirted past Mohave Accelerated 7-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. John Paul II Catholic since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
