Basketball Recap: Lake Ridge Academy Takes a Loss

Lake Ridge Academy lost against Medina Christian Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lake Ridge Academy Royals were dealt a 50-14 defeat at the hands of the Medina Christian Academy Knights.

Despite the loss, Lake Ridge Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lillian Shmois posted four points and nine boards. Shmois has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Medina Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashley Conwill, who earned 16 points. Another player making a difference was Grace Workman, who had 13 points.

Lake Ridge Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Medina Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Lake Ridge Academy has already played their next matchup, a 55-43 win against Temple Christian on the 1st. As for Medina Christian Academy, they will square off against Bristol at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Bristol will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Medina Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
