The Somerset Academy Losee Lions had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. Everything went their way against Mojave as Somerset Academy Losee made off with a 42-21 win. The result was nothing new for Somerset Academy Losee, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Leading Somerset Academy Losee to victory were Kieran Daniel and Malachi Johnson. Daniel rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, while Johnson rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Despite the loss, Mojave still got an impressive performance from Miguel Kiko Reinares, who rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Reinares' longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Somerset Academy Losee's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for Mojave, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy Losee will take on Western at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Western is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Mojave, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Rancho at 6:00 p.m. on October 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Rancho is ranked 65th, while Mojave is ranked 50th).
