Having just played yesterday, the Gretna East Griffins will get right back to it and host Westview at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Gretna East ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They managed a 46-42 victory over Columbus. 46 seems to be a good number for Gretna East as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Westview beat Gretna 62-53 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Westview.
Westview found their leader in underclassman Stella Williams, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Ross, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
The win was the third in a row for Gretna East, bringing their record for this year to 9-5. As for Westview, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
