Cranston West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Ponaganset, who was ranked 17th at the time (Cranston West was ranked fifth). The Falcons put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 12-2 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Mia Crudale spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Gianna Dispirito was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Siena Nardelli, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cranston West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Prout's offense. They came up short against Chariho last Friday, falling 12-0. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Cranston West's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Prout, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cranston West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Prout struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
