Noel Gallegos was a one-man wrecking crew for Horizon as she scored 17 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Peyton Schiltz, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Cactus Shadows lost, one person who can't be blamed is Camryn Koester. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Schultz, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Horizon pushed their record up to 14-8 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Cactus Shadows, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.
Horizon's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Notre Dame Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 698 points over their last ten matches. As for Cactus Shadows, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Desert Mountain at 7:00 p.m. Cactus Shadows will be up against Desert Mountain's rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.13 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
