The Graham-Kapowsin Eagles will face off against the Puyallup Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after eight games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
On Thursday, Graham-Kapowsin strolled past Spanaway Lake with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Sentinels are ranked 92nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Graham-Kapowsin proved: they limited Spanaway Lake to a paltry 1.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least two total tackles, Jeremiah Leumuava stood above the rest. He picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made two total tackles. Graham-Kapowsin's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.1.
Meanwhile, Puyallup got themselves on the board against Curtis on Friday, but Curtis never followed suit. They breezed past Curtis to the tune of 45-0. Puyallup might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 34 points or more this season.
Puyallup's win came from a few key players Graham-Kapowsin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Luke Parker, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two scores. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 68 yards. Cody Mcfadden was another key player, rushing for 65 yards and one touchdown.
Graham-Kapowsin's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Puyallup, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Graham-Kapowsin has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 379.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Puyallup struggles in that department as they've been averaging 463 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Everything came up roses for Graham-Kapowsin against Puyallup in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, as the team secured a 42-13 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
