Pioneer recap Oct. 30, 2012
North extended the longest winning streak in Pioneer this week by beating South, 36-28. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Saxons.
Torrance took down Lawndale 41-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
El Segundo's dynamic duo of Lars Nootbaar and Seth McKenna proved tough for Centennial to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nootbaar threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns and McKenna had 89 yards receiving. Jamie Stewart helped El Segundo's passing attack out by catching nine balls for 60 yards.
Kyle Nesbit provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Spartans fell to North. He completed five passes for 98 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 83 yards. Nesbit's favorite target this week was Justin Mino, who caught one pass for 46 yards.
Ryan Bowman was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 124 yards as South fell to the Apaches.

Nootbaar has thrown for 1022 yards this season, while Stewart, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 45 catches for 674 yards. The Tartars' Jonathan Heard leads the league in rushing yards with 835.
The top two teams in Pioneer will face off this week when first place North takes on second place Torrance. Todd Croce's team beat Chris Hyduke's team last week, while Torrance topped the Cardinals.
